The dreadful commute...

I must say that one of the biggest perks of working on an island is the commute. Not your typical 45 minutes on the beltway.

So, if I have to get to be at work at 3, I leave my house around 2:15. I walk from my house to the bus stop which is about 15 minutes from my house.

This is what I see while walking to the bus stop:

Next, I get on the bus which takes me through a tunnel, under a fjord, and onto an island, Bjoroy, which is home to a fair number of people, who before the tunnel, could only get to their houses on a boat, but can now drive. And when I get off the bus, I am on the island, and I walk to the dock where I get on the boat for work. So this is the walk from the bus to the boat, on the island:

More of the walk, which takes a total of about 10-15 minutes:

It's a really really cute island that still has a lot of farmland and houses with a lot of space, and incredible views.

More of the walk, getting closer to the water now:

Starting to walk down to the dock:

Here's where we all get on the boats to ride over to work.

And I'm in my ride! Heading across the fjord to the island, Holmen, that the restaurant is on.

Looking back to Bjoroy, the bigger island, where I got off the bus.

Now getting into the bigger fjord to get to the island.

That's the island! That's the restaurant. Those flags are on our dock, which can now hold about 15-20 different boats of all different sizes.

Pulling up to work (exiting the beltway)

The view from the boat

We've arrived, and our boat has some very classy seating options, clearly.

Leaving the parking lot, walking into the lobby, up the elevator, and here I am at work!

So, that's the commute. I am pretty sure I will never have a better one...
